Health & Safety

Your health & safety is a priority and VRST 2022 is following provincial COVID-19 guidelines. If you plan to attend in-person (on site), please check the following information.

Vaccination & Masking Policy

All travelers who plan to attend Japan are required to take PCR-test or full vaccination. Most of the people in Japan wear masks in all indoor situations, on public transportation and in the city streets. Accordingly, all VRST 2022 in-person attendees, at their time of registration, will be expected to indicate that they have been vaccinated against COVID-19, or that they have a legitimate medical or religious exemption from vaccination. VRST 2022 would not allow attendees who are neither vaccinated nor medically or religiously exempt but attending online is still welcome. Masking will be required indoors for all attendees. Further, anyone experiencing any symptoms of any kind during the conference should isolate themselves and not attend the conference.

COVID Daily Self-Testing

VRST 2022 strongly recommends all attendees to do COVID self-testing daily.
・Each attendee needs to measure their body temperature before leaving the hotel each morning of the conference. The attendees must not attend any event in-person if they found any symptoms of coronavirus infection.
・COVID-19 rapid tests every morning is strongly recommended. If possible, each attendee should bring 4-5 rapid tests with them during the conference. These tests are relatively cheap or free and easy to obtain in many places.
