VRST2026 will take place at Global Connect Hub –Atelier Q∞, located on Tohoku University Katahira Campus in Sendai, Japan.
Opened in late October 2025, this new facility offers rental laboratories and event spaces designed to support open innovation. With its focus on interdisciplinary collaboration and international partnerships, Global Connect Hub – Atelier Q∞ provides an ideal setting for academic exchange, networking, and forward-looking discussions throughout the conference.

Access to Sendai
- Via Tokyo: Arrive at Tokyo Narita International Airport or Tokyo Haneda Airport, then travel to Tokyo Station and take the Tohoku Shinkansen to Sendai Station. The Shinkansen journey from Tokyo to Sendai takes approximately 1.5 hours.
- Via Sendai Airport: Some international and domestic flights arrive directly at Sendai Airport. From Sendai Airport, take the Sendai Airport Access Line to JR Sendai Station. The train ride takes approximately 25 minutes. Please refer to the official Sendai Airport website for the latest flight information.
Sendai Station is the main transportation hub for the city and provides convenient connections to local trains, subway lines, buses, taxis, hotels, and the conference venue.
Access to Global Connect Hub – Atelier Q∞
- By taxi: Approx. 5 minutes
- On foot: Approx. 20 minutes from the WEST exit of Sendai Station.
- By subway: Take the Sendai Subway Namboku Line from Sendai station, get off at Itsutsubashi Station (五橋駅), and walk for approximately 10 minutes.
- By city bus: From the WEST-side bus pool at Sendai Station, take a city bus from platform 11 and get off at Tohoku University Main Gate. From the bus stop, it is approximately a 7-minute walk to the venue.
- From Sendai Airport
- By taxi: Approx. 60 minutes
- By subway (not direct): Take the Sendai Airport Access Line to JR Sendai Station (approximately 25 minutes). From Sendai Station, continue by subway, taxi, or on foot.
- Please allow extra travel time during morning and evening peak hours.
- Taxis are convenient for participants carrying luggage or arriving directly from hotels near Sendai Station. The most convenient taxi app in Japan is GO, which offers the largest number of taxis. Uber and DiDi are also availible, but in Japan they operate primarily as taxi hailing services rather than ridesharing apps.
- When using public transportation, please check the latest timetable and route information before departure.
- The venue is located on a university campus; please follow on-site signage and staff guidance on the conference day.
